TRAIN YOUR GIRL CHILD NOT AS A WEAKER VESSEL- DR WORLU.

The Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area Hon Dr Gift Worlu has charged parents not to train their girl child as weaker vessels.
The council boss gave the charge yesterday when a group known as Choba daughters, led by the Coordinator and Registrar, University of Port Harcourt Dame. Dr.Mrs Gloria Chinda paid him a courtesy visit at the Council Headquarters Rumuodomaya.
The council chairman noted that Women have a crucial place in the society and that the era when Women are seen as weaker vessels, people who have no place beyond the kitchen has come and gone. “Today one of you is the Registrar of University of Port Harcourt.”
He charged them to put their energies and knowledge together as a group in order to bring about positive change in the community and society
Dr Worlu further stated that Choba community has contributed immensely to the development of not just Obio-Akpor, Rivers State but to Nigeria as a whole, pointing out that the land which University of Port Harcourt sits has produced many great men including the former President of federal Republic of Nigeria.
He thanked the coordinator of Choba daughters and all members of the group for the love and support they gave to him during the campaigns which he said brought him here he reiterated that such support and love will never go unnoticed”.
Earlier in her remarks, the coordinator of the group Dame Dr. Mrs. Gloria Chinda informed the council chairman that they were at the council headquarters to congratulate him on his emergence and successful swearing-in as Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.
“She said “As the coordinator of Choba daughters, we are here to congratulate you our dear brother who has made us proud. This is the first time a Choba/Akpor Son is occupying the post of an elected chairman of Obio Akpor.
Highlights of the visit was a presentation of an award of honour and prayers to the chairman and the FCT Minister Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
